Squirrels are a frequent woodland rodent in the UK. There are two main types that live in the UK, the grey squirrel and the red squirrel. The red squirrel is a indigenous species which is protected legally as its numbers in the UK are very low. The grey squirrel is a non-native species which is considered to be the reason for the decline in numbers of the red squirrel as it threatens their territory and food sources. Grey squirrels are viewed as pests and can cause problems if indeed they nest inside homes or other buildings.

Squirrels can be controlled by various pest control methods. Either live catch or snap traps can be utilised, although it is illegal to release any caught grey squirrels because they are pests and can harm the local environment. Any captured live grey squirrels must be killed humanely. These traps must be set in such a way as not to cause harm to other wildlife. The most effective way to handle a squirrel infestation in your house is to block their access, although this must be done carefully to make sure that no young squirrels are trapped in a nest.

Specialist pest control companies will be able to survey the location and carry out a pest control program which does not harm any other species in an area. They will also be able to advise you of the most effective way to stop any access routes that the squirrels are using to enter your property.

Catterick Garrison is a major garrison and town positioned three miles south of Richmond in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire, England. The town lies within the Central Richmondshire electoral division of North Yorkshire County Council and divided amongst the Hipswell and Scotton wards of Richmondshire District Council. The town is divided amongst two civil parishes. The southern part of the town, south of a little stream known as Leadmill Gill, is within the civil parish of Scotton. The northern part forms the greater part of the civil parish of Hipswell. Every parish has its own parish council. It is the largest British Army garrison in the world, having a population of about 13000 and measuring more than 2400 acres. The original intention for Catterick was to become a temporary camp to accommodate two complete divisions with about 40000 men in 2000 huts. However, under plans announced by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in November 2005, the population of Catterick Garrison is expected to grow to over 25000 by 2020, making it the biggest population centre within the local area. Lacking a true town centre, the Garrison gained its initial significant supermarket in 2000, as well as a retail park generally known as ‘Richmondshire Walk’, which also includes a McDonalds, a Poundstretcher and also a Peacocks, amongst other shops. ‘Catterick Leisure Centre’ is a purpose built centre opposite the retail park, opened in July 2009, and it provides a broad spectrum of leisure and fitness facilities which include a swimming pool, as well as a fitness centre, in addition to an adjoining public library. For all of your property upgrades, be sure that you employ trustworthy specialists in Catterick Garrison to ensure you get the very best quality.
