Wildlife refers to a selection of species of animal, from mammals like rats, mice and squirrels to other insects such as wasps and bees. Although many of these animals do not cause considerable harm to homes or vegetation, some can cause serious damage if they are present in huge numbers. Wildlife control is a complicated procedure that can have substantial effects on the ecosystem of an area and so should only be undertaken carefully by skilled pros.

Most wildlife control begins with a survey of the species within a certain area. This will give you information about which species are potentially causing problems and which may need special care to be taken throughout the pest control treatment to avoid injuring them. If there are any protected species in the location it is illegal to cause injury or death to them, therefore any pest control treatment must be sensitive to this.

Wildlife control will probably also require deterrence measures such as secure fencing or the removal of any food source that a pest animal may be using. These measures are more humane than capturing or kiling pests, and may even be a great deal more effective as killing pest animals may often not have a significant impact on the population in an area.
