Pigeons are a very prevalent pest in the United Kingdom. They are usually found in cities and urban areas. Pigeon populations have increased drastically, most likely due to feeding by members of the general public. For home and business owners in these areas, the strategies for pest control may be restricted. All wild birds and their nests are safeguarded by law and should not be killed unless they cause a health and safety danger to members of the general public.

However, bird proofing is a frequent method used to control pigeons. There are many different strategies used to bird proof structures. The most prevalent approach is to install anti-roost spikes which are metal or plastic spikes that stick up in places where pigeons roost and stop them from doing so. Other methods for bird proofing buildings include bird nets or types of gel or other liquids which are applied to an area and discourage pigeons from roosting. These methods are effective at protecting against pigeons from roosting on certain buildings, but will seldom have a substantial impact on pigeons in a larger sized area.

Expert pest control companies will be able to inform you of the most effective way to regulate a pigeon infestation. If there are pigeons nesting on your roof or other areas of your property, they will be able to move the pigeons that are roosting and any chicks they may have safely and without injuring the birds, and then install bird proofing solutions to ensure pigeons do not roost there in future.

The London Borough of Harrow is a London borough of north-west London, England. It borders Hertfordshire to the north as well as other London boroughs, including Hillingdon towards the west, Ealing to the south, Brent towards the south-east and Barnet towards the east. The local authority is Harrow London Borough Council.

Harrow Urban District was formed in 1934 as an urban district of Middlesex by the Middlesex Review Order 1934, as a merger of the former region of Harrow on the Hill Urban District, Hendon Rural District and Wealdstone Urban District. The urban district gained the status of municipal borough on 4th May 1954 and the urban district council became Harrow Borough Council. The 50th anniversary of the incorporation as a borough was celebrated in April 2004, which included a visit by Queen Elizabeth II. In 1965, the municipal borough was abolished and its former area was transferred to Greater London from Middlesex under the London Government Act 1963 to establish the London Borough of Harrow. It is uniquely the only London borough to duplicate precisely the unchanged boundaries of a single former district. This was likely because its population was big sufficient. The borough covers a total area of 19.49 square miles.

In accordance with population estimates in the middle of 2014, it includes a permanent population of about 246011 people. Its site on and close to the greenbelt and convenience to central London makes Harrow a good place to live not just for families but affluent singles too. Increasing house prices in all London areas have helped to find out a big increase in property redevelopment of its existing Edwardian and 1920s to 1940s housing.
