A few species of mosquito can be found in the UK. While they are not especially widespread, they could cause infestations in homes and gardens and these are often very difficult. Mosquitoes breed around standing water sources such as bird baths and water butts. Mosquitoes in the United Kingdom can bite humans. The female mosquito will bite prior to laying eggs. While a single mosquito in the house most likely isn’t a signal of a serious problem, lots of mosquitoes in the same area can be considered a signal of an infestation which should be managed as they can breed rapidly.
Mosquitoes in the UK do not spread diseases, however they can bite and in huge numbers this can be very painful. These pest insects can cause painful, itchy bites in humans and pets, especially if the mosquitoes are left to travel around the house at night.
The key to effective mosquito control is precise identification of the species. While some mosquitoes can be recognised incorrectly as other bugs such as gnats or crane flies, mosquitoes make a distinctive high pitched whining noise when they fly. Expert pest control companies can identify the insect and then apply a highly effective pest control strategy. This will generally consist of use of a knock down insecticide spray to kill adult mosquitoes, followed by an insecticide treatment of plants and bushes in the area along with any standing water sources. This last treatment is designed to kill any larvae or eggs that are present as well as getting rid of the places that mosquitoes can lay eggs.

Attleborough is a market town and civil parish between Norwich and Thetford within Norfolk, England. The parish is within the district of Breckland and has an area of 21.9 square kilometres (8.5 square miles). Attleborough is inside the Mid-Norfolk constituency of the UK Parliament. Attleborough railway station delivers a main line rail service to both Norwich and Cambridge. The 2001 Census recorded the town as having a permanent resident population of 9702 distributed between 4185 households. It increased to a population of 10482 in 4481 households in the 2011 Census. The first turnpike road in England is reported to have been developed here at the end of the 17th century. The 1920s saw continuing growth as a market centre, held on a Thursday, the stalls spread along the pavements of Church Street and in an open area by the Angel Hotel opposite the Griffin Inn. It was the turkey sales which made the town a thriving market centre during the 1930s, and thousands have been sold every year on Michaelmas Day. Nearby employment still primarily revolved around the Gaymer’s cider works, established in the late 19th century. Much of the town’s improvement occurred during the 1960s. The overspill programme and new town improvement brought new families into south Norfolk. Attleborough had to make decisions for the future and new development zones were designated. The first estate programme began with the building of the council-owned Cyprus Estate which has since been added to by additional private housing schemes, such as Fairfields and Ollands built mainly during the 1970s in addition to a significant estate on the south side of the town during 1990s.
