Hornets are not a widespread pest in the UK. However, they can cause issues in a few areas, and their large size and powerful sting makes them dangerous to humans, particularly if they are present in large numbers.

Hornets can be tough to differentiate from wasps. The most clear marker is that hornets are social and live in large nests while wasps have a tendency to be solitary. All of these methods will leave some residual effect which means that any hornets which were not present during the first application will be eliminated when they return to the nest.
